Your label copy shouldn’t need a lawyer’s phone number.
Mintmark is the FDA labeling compliance service built for indie food, supplement, and cosmetics brands. Software scans the first pass. A human regulatory reviewer signs off every product for premium subscribers — so the only thing standing between your launch and a cease-and-desist is a certificate, not a gamble.

The regulator won’t care about your runway
Self-serve label generators are cheap. They aren’t a defense.
A copy-pasted template passes your internal review. It does not pass the FDA’s. Mintmark sits between the commodity label-software stack and a $15k regulatory project — bringing a human sign-off into the subscription layer that indie CPG already buys.
01
Cease-and-desist letters
“Supports immunity” on a label without substantiation is a queue for plaintiffs’ firms. FDA oversight scales with complaint volume, not brand size.
02
Amazon health-and-safety delistings
Amazon now requires Supplements, Sports Nutrition, and Sexual Health categories to be vetted through LegitScript or risk removal. Suspended listings also freeze inventory and cashflow.
03
FTC + state AG scrutiny
Ad copy, sponsored posts, and influencer claims all flow from the same product profile. Once one channel slips, the FTC and state AGs escalate the rest. Defense costs start at five figures.
How it works
Scan first. Read second. Sign off third.
Software handles the rule layer. A human handles the judgment layer. The result is a subscription-priced audit you can actually put in front of a marketplace, a buyer, or a regulator.
- 1STEP 1 / 3
Software scan
Drop in your ingredient list, label copy, and ad claims. Our rule engine runs a first-pass scan against current FDA, FTC, and Amazon policy.
- 2STEP 2 / 3
Human regulatory reviewer
A licensed reviewer reads your full product profile — claims, allergens, structure-function language, Supplement Facts panel format — and flags what a rule scan misses.
- 3STEP 3 / 3
Sign-off certificate you ship
You walk away with a Mintmark sign-off and the reviewer’s notes. Attach it to your regulatory binder, your LegitScript application, and your Amazon listing.
Coverage
What the reviewer actually reads.
Six risk surfaces every indie CPG launch crosses — with examples pulled from real FDA warning letters, Amazon seller forums, and FTC enforcement actions. Mintmark catches the issues a self-serve label generator misses on the first read.
Claims substantiation
“Clinically studied,” “doctor recommended,” “boosts immunity.” We map every claim on the label and ad creative against the substantiation you can actually defend.
Allergen + facility lines
Big-9 allergen declarations, shared-equipment language, and the FALCPA-compliant “may contain” statements the FDA actually requires.
Structure-function language
The DSHEA line between claim and structure-function — and the required FDA disclaimer that has to appear with it.
Supplement Facts panel
Serving size, %DV, ingredient order, proprietary blends. The format itself can be a delisting trigger.
Amazon restricted products
Health-and-safety policy, drug claims screening, and LegitScript certification readiness for Sports Nutrition, Supplements, and Sexual Health SKUs.
Ad language + influencer copy
The same claims your founder posts on Instagram also live on the label. FTC endorsement guides now hold brands liable for what creators say.
Pricing
Sit below the consultancy bracket. Layer human review on top.
The commodity label-software stack already exists at $30/mo. Mintmark’s premium tier adds a defensible human sign-off — at a fraction of the $5k–$15k project fee a regulatory consultancy charges for one launch.
Self-serve Software
from $30/month
Rule-engine scan of label copy, ingredient claims, and ad language. For brands running a single SKU with a clean category.
- First-pass FDA + FTC scan
- Allergen + Supplement Facts checks
- Amazon policy preflight
Expert Sign-Off
$150–$300/month
A human regulatory reviewer signs off every product. Designed for active indie CPG brands shipping to Shopify, Amazon, and DTC at once.
- Everything in Self-serve
- Human reviewer per SKU
- Sign-off certificate + reviewer notes
- Monitoring of FDA + FTC updates
vs. Traditional consultancy
$5k–$15k/project
Project-based regulatory consultancies charge per SKU, per claim, per changelog. Mintmark replaces the retainer with a subscription you turn on when you launch.
- Per-project pricing, not per-change
- No recurring claims monitoring
- No sign-off certificate you can ship
Paid plans ship next quarter. In the meantime, get in line for founder-pricing review slots.
FAQ
Read this before you send the label to print.
Five things indie CPG founders ask us before they sign up. If your question isn’t here, write to us — we read every message.
Do you replace our label designer or copywriter?
No. Mintmark sits downstream of your design and writing process. You bring finished copy and a draft label; we run the regulatory audit. We don’t write creative or pick fonts.
What does a human sign-off actually catch that software misses?
A rule engine flags “doctor recommended” because the phrase is on a denylist. A human reviewer reads the substantiation study you’re using, decides whether it actually supports the claim, and tells you how to qualify it.
Do you file FDA paperwork or register our facility?
Not in v1. Mintmark signs off the copy and label structure. State-by-state facility registration, FDA establishment registration, and international export documentation are the natural expansion paths we’re building toward.
Will you sign off an Amazon listing?
Yes — that’s most of what we do. The sign-off covers the product listing, the Supplement Facts panel, and the structure-function language used in your A+ content.
Are you lawyers?
No. Mintmark is a regulatory review service, not a law firm. We don’t issue legal opinions. If a sign-off turns up something that needs counsel, we’ll say so plainly.
